About the workshop

The workshop was organised by KMOP Social Action and Innovation Centre in cooperation with the Regional Directorate of Primary and Secondary Education of Central Macedonia on Monday, October 15th 2018, at event hall of the directorate. A total of 27 Directors of Primary and Secondary Schools of Central Macedonia participated. The participants were welcomed by the Regional Director of Education Mr. Ananiadis Panagiotis, and the action was coordinated by members of KMOP: Mrs. Rania Philippou and Mrs. Katerina Sourda. From the Regional Directorate of Primary and Secondary Education of Central Macedonia Mr. Dimitrios Mylonas, Mrs. Crystalli Staikou, Mrs. Georgia Makrogiorgou and Mrs. Irene Kehagia participated in the workshop.

MEDIS PROJECT

The MEDIS (Mediterranean Inclusive Schools) programme aims to strengthen and consolidate the social cohesion, intercultural education and local language teaching in a multilingual context of newly arrived migrants in primary and secondary schools.

The program is being implemented alongside Portugal, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Italy and Spain. The MEDIS handbook, which is under design, consists of good practices for experiential activities and examples that can be used by teachers as part of the curriculum in order to promote social inclusion and cultural diversity in the school environment.

In the context of MEDIS, 40 education professional and 20 school units of the Regional Directorate of Primary and Secondary Education of Central Macedonia will be trained. For further information, you can contact us!
